Approaches to Treatment
Beginning therapy can be a scary process whether you have been in treatment before or if it is your first time. I endeavor to provide a warm and open environment to help you feel comfortable. Although sessions can be quite serious and intense at times they can also be lighter and include humor (as appropriate), which can be helpful for healing. My primary goal is to foster a relationship with each individual client as I believe the relationship is the primary vessel for healing, this is especially true if harm has come from relationships.
I am a trauma and Polyvagal informed therapist. I am a certified Trauma Informed Stabilization Treatment (TIST) as well as a CCTP-II practitioner (certified clinical trauma professional level II: complex trauma). I have completed my first year of Somatic Experiencing and I am currently in training for Integral Somatic Psychology (ISP) and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy level 1. I seek out these advanced trainings in order to best serve my clients on their healing journey.
I am trained in a variety of modalities, which offers me a broad skill set to pull from. I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all treatment approach and I utilize a range of interventions to target what best serves each of my clients in session. Some of these approaches include:
-
Trauma Informed Stabilization Treatment (TIST) interventions
